3 Day Primary Certificate Practicum in Rational-Emotive & Cognitive Behavior Therapy

Dates: June 2 – 4, 2017

In this intense three day practicum, participants will learn the Rational Emotive & Cognitive Behavior theory of emotional disturbance and change by leading REBT practitioners. Strategies for identifying and challenging clients' dysfunctional beliefs and constructing more adaptive beliefs, emotions and behaviors will be a focus of the weekend. REBT's conceptualization of emotions and Common Errors new REBT therapists make will also be presented. Participants will have the opportunity to practice their RE & CBT skills in small group supervision and receive immediate feedback from an experienced certified REBT supervisor.  

 

 

Advanced Certificate Practicum in Rational-Emotive & Cognitive Behavior Therapy
26 Contact Hours/CE Credits

Dates: June 8 – 11, 2017
Location: 145 E. 32nd Street, 9th Fl., NY, NY 10016

Professionals will further their knowledge of rational-emotive and cognitive behavior therapy, as well as up-to-date research and clinical applications, and will receive individual supervision in small groups with a certified REBT supervisor. 

 

Associate Fellowship Practicum in Rational-Emotive & Cognitive Behavior Therapy 

26 Contact Hours/CE Credits

Dates: June 8 – 11, 2017

The Associate Fellowship Certificate Program is the highest level of external training after the Advanced Certificate. Practitioners will deepen their skills through individual supervision of their psychotherapy practice and participation in advanced seminars.

Social anxiety, generalized anxiety, and various forms of phobias are a few examples of disorders that include unhealthy anxiety as a core symptom and source of functional impairment. Anxiety disorders are the most common form of psychological disorders in the United States and motivate many people to seek psychotherapy. Fortunately, many highly effective, evidence-based approaches are available to practitioners. This half-day workshop will focus on how anxiety disorders develop and how evidence-based approaches can be utilized in the treatment of anxiety. Rational Emotive and Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (RE&CBT) theory, research, and techniques will be reviewed and discussed. Participants will learn how to utilize cognitive, emotive, and behavioral techniques to address a range of anxiety-related problems.

This workshop will introduce mental health professionals to cognitive behavioral techniques that can be used in a classroom or office setting. Strategies that address children who are exhibiting internalizing disorders (anxiety, depression OCD) and externalizing disorders (ADHD, aggression) will be discussed. Ways to adapt traditional cognitive behavioral strategies to working with younger children will be shared. In addition, actual forms and materials that can be used in a school or office setting will be distributed.
