Whine! Whine! Whine!

Except for a few glum existential psychologists, I reckon that most helping professionals recognize the therapeutic value of humor. REBT is no exception. Dr. Ellis is famous for his rational songs and limericks which help to break our narrow fixation on a problem, release tension and give us a new perspective and to convey REBT principles in a rich and meaningful way. Here is classic Ellis. Enjoy!

“Whine, whine, whine!”
by Dr. Ellis
Sung to the tune of the Yale Whiffenpoofs Song
I cannot have all of my wishes filled.
Whine! Whine! Whine!
I cannot have every frustration filled
Whine! Whine! Whine!
Life really owes me the things that I miss. Fate has to grant me eternal bliss. And if I must settle for less than this,
Whine! Whine! Whine!
